Maxtor M3 Portable External USB Hard Drives

External USB hard drives are extremely useful as they can be easily swapped between multiple machines, making them an easy way to transfer and share massive amounts of data.

We always have a selection of external hard drives in stock. Currently we have the 500 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB versions of Maxtor’s M3 portable external HDD in stock.

For our money, portable drives are always more convenient. Their small size makes them easy to carry around, and- unlike the desktop sized models- they don’t require a separate power supply (which would also have to be carried around).

Almost all external HDD drives we have nowadays support the latest version of USB (USB 3 SuperSpeed), though they’re backwards-compatible with older USB 2.0 ports, albeit at slower speeds. The Maxtor M3 drives are no different.

In addition to USB 3, they also support:-

• SafetyKey – an encrypted key for safe protection of backed up data
• SecretZone – a software program that protects personal information by creating a secure, password-protected folder
• Auto Backup – automatic backing up of your important personal data
