Windows Installation Services

There are various reasons why you might want Windows installed or reinstalled on your computer. One of the most obvious is that you simply want to upgrade to a newer version, typically Windows 10 or Windows 8.1.

The other major reason people come to us for this service is when their Windows installation has become damaged or corrupt, either due to software or hardware failure, or due to viruses and malware. Sometimes it’s possible to repair this damage while keeping your system mostly intact (see “Windows Repair Services”), although not always. Often people want to start afresh regardless, with a clean, fresh, uncluttered Windows installation.

Our Windows installation services listed below are available for most versions of Windows including:-

  • Windows 10 (all versions including Home and Pro)
  • Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 (Standard (home) and Professional editions)
  • Windows 7 (Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate editions)
  • Windows Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate editions)
  • Windows XP (Home and Professional versions)
  • Windows 2000
  • Windows ME (“Millennium Edition”)
  • Windows 98 (both original version and Second Edition (“98 SE”))
  • Windows 95 (all versions)

For other versions of not listed above, please contact us first to confirm suitability.

This service requires that you own a legal copy of the version of Windows you want installed. If you do not already have this, we can supply Windows 10, Windows 8.1 or Windows 7* as part of the installation- contact us for competitive prices on this.

Our Windows installation services are available with optional backup of your existing data for a modest additional charge. Please let us know in advance what- if anything- you require to be backed up from your existing installation, and our staff will advise you on this matter.

* Please contact us if you require Windows Vista or Windows XP. We regret that we are unable to supply older versions of Windows.

Windows Repair Services

Fortunately, there’s a good chance the techicians at Disc Depot Dundee can fix Windows on your computer without having to entirely reinstall it! We’ll get your computer back to tip-top condition and leave your setup intact.

Save When You Have Other Software Installed with Windows

If you’re planning on having any other software (such as Kaspersky antivirus) installed on your computer anyway, please mention this when you book your computer in for reinstallation.

Although we charge a small fee for installing most software packages as a separate service, if you’re having this done at the same time as Windows is being installed, in most cases we’ll waive the additional fee, subject to the terms and conditions below.

Free Software Installation Offer – Terms and Conditions

  • This offer only applies when you are having a paid Windows installation carried out at the same time, and is subject to approval by management.
  • For software you already own, we will generally require the software keys and installation media.
  • This free installation offer does not include the cost of purchasing any additional software itself. This will be charged at the usual price for packages you do not already own (except where software is free of charge).
  • This offer covers the typical “Windows and a few applications” setup. We reserve the right to charge for cases requiring a large number of additional software installations or where installation may be particularly complex. (We will let you know in advance if this is the case).
  • You should let us know you want this done at the time your computer is booked in (i.e. before Windows is installed).
