Laptop Keeps Turning Itself Off?
If your laptop, notebook or netbook computer keeps shutting itself down for no apparent reason, this could be due to overheating. Overheating is often caused by a problem with the cooling system (i.e. the fans and related parts).
Most modern laptop (and desktop) computers will shut themselves down if internal temperature sensors detect overheating. This is rather a good idea, because it stops your computer frying itself and causing more serious- and unfixable- damage!
Of course, the cause of the overheating has to be fixed- that’s why we’re here!
Faulty or Clogged Fan or Cooling System?
Overheating problems can caused either by the fan itself failing, or due to the fan and cooling system becoming clogged with dust and fluff. Even fan clogging can be a problem for laptop computers- unlike desktop PCs, it’s often necessary to partially disassemble a laptop to get all that fluff out.
Worse, if your laptop overheats, the thermal paste- which helps transfer heat from the components to the heatsink- can dry out, making the overheating even worse! If it appears to us that your laptop needs its thermal paste replaced, we can do that too.

Noisy Fan Repair and Replacement
Another reason people might want their laptop fixed is simply that it’s become annoyingly noisy- almost always due to one of the fans inside.
Noisy fans can also be a sign of impending failure, so having it fixed for this reason may also avoid a problem with a broken fan causing overheating somehwere down the road.
