The quality of these ranges hugely- from passable to downright awful- but you can’t always be sure what you’re getting. (Although all models in the iPhone 16 series include an OLED screen, some copy screens use cheaper but inferior LCD-based panels that your phone isn’t designed for, and which can even damage it).
Some copy screens aren’t even OLED-based. Many shops buy these based on price- cheaper screens means more profit for them.
Most places won’t draw your attention to the fact they’re using copy screens because it doesn’t suit them to do so- especially as they can’t offer you an alternative anyway!

This generally isn’t a major issue when your iPhone is new, but after it reaches the point of being a few years old- or in as little as 18 months if it’s under heavy use- the capacity can start to drop.
